Another candidate for creepy animal status, the snake-necked turtle! Now I actually think these guys are pretty cute, but I have a friend who would disagree. Still. Another excellent example of variation. :D
From what I remember of my Comparative Anatomy & Physiology class, the best bet for the longest life is to be an ectotherm of a large species, but to be a small individual for your species (hence the smaller breeds of dogs living longer than larger breeds of dogs).
So be a small giant tortoise and you’re pretty much set for life! Which in your case is a very long time. :P
